Over 30 teams across all Grainger offices took part in a pedometer challenge from 23 July for 1 month with a prize of Paralympic tickets for the winning team. Promotion of cultural events  and wellbeing information as well through articles on internal intranet.

Create a CR library with information on Grainger’s policies, achievements and FAQs for use in internal and external  communications on Grainger’s CR approach

Reference resources developed to raise staff awareness of Grainger’s CR approach, including CR FAQ, and uploaded onto a new CR Library section of the intranet. Resources to be developed based on feedback from staff.

Conduct health and safety audits for 100% of Grainger’s managing agents

This target has been substatially achieved.

89% of our managing agents have been audited during 2010/11. The remaining audits are scheduled to be completed in 2011/12.

83% of our major contractors for development and refurbishment work audited. The remaining audits are scheduled to be completed in 2011/12.

We created a new Health & Wellbeing intranet site with information for staff. This was launched in October 2011 along with a four-week pedometer challenge to promote fitness.

Attain C Standard GRI certification for the 2010/11 report

Grainger’s full online 2010/11 CR report includes the following indicators in accordance with the requirements for GRI Level C: EC1, EC2, EN23, LA1, LA3, LA7, LA10, LA12, SO5, PR5. Please see the tab GRI Index for further details.

The health and safety management of 85% of contractors operating on behalf of Grainger (excluding those undertaking projects under CDM regulations) will be assessed and will attain CHAS approval.
