Influencing the Future
Establishing Grainger as a CR leader through active government engagement and industry debate.
We applaud the intentions of the UK government to encourage the shift to a sustainable property sector. Effective policies must be developed in partnership with industry, to ensure they are practical and will have the desired outcome.
What we want to achieve: Grainger’s ambition is to be the company to consult on issues related to the future of the UK residential industry, including CR. We also aim to raise CR awareness and standards across the industry.
Why it matters: Through proactive engagement Grainger can shape, and be fully prepared for, the issues that will impact housing in the coming years. Grainger can also enhance its reputation as a sector leader.
Our performance in 2011/12:
- Influencing the future of housing through the publication of the Grainger Rental Review and Making the most of equity release.
- Leading and engaging in industry debate through hosting roundtable event with Addleshaw Goddard on long-term solutions to Britain's housing crisis. Discussion topics included affordable housing and policy issues, such as localism versus growth.
- Ongoing engagement with government representatives, politicians, policy makers, partners and peers on a number of key issues, such as residential real estate investment trusts, stamp duty land tax, planning and the future of housing, particularly the private rented sector and Build-To-Rent.
