Give & Gain day in Altrincham

Grainger has continued to show its support for local projects through its Give & Gain days. In June 2011 members of our Altrincham office gave up their time to carry out some much needed improvements at a local primary school.

Gareth Feeney, Janet Budgen, Louise Spooner and Emma Burdge spent the day at Lime Tree Primary School in Sale Moor. The team worked hard on the school’s play area, painting the playhouse and decking area and creating an attractive bamboo fencing surround. They also gave the garden a makeover by planting a large flower bed with plants and herbs for the children to nurture.

The team’s work was much appreciated by the school as it brightens up and improves the children’s everyday environment. The outdoor space is an essential part of the children’s learning and development, and staff and pupils were delighted with their fresh new surroundings.

The Give & Gain scheme first made contact with Lime Tree Primary School in 2010 as it falls within one of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the country. The school is a central part of the neighbourhood community. By helping the school, the Give & Gain Scheme hopes to contribute a positive effect that runs throughout the wider community.
