Cleaning up Vauxhall City Farm

A group of seven from Grainger’s London offices teamed up recently to help out a valuable local community project.

The Vauxhall City Farm provides an oasis in the heart of a noisy and vibrant part of London. The farm was originally set up in 1977 for local children to come and learn about farming. These days its as likely to give locals and visitors a much appreciated chance to escape the city grind (if only for a few hours) and to connect with nature and animals.

Our team, Joanne Enticott, Caroline Turtle, Colette Esterhuizen, Sarah Davies, Natalie Young, Melanie Weaver and Kurt Mueller were ably supported throughout the day by farm manager Tom Davis.

Getting stuck in right from the start, the team spent the day painting the paddock fencing, and clearing and seeding a paddock for the farm animals to graze on. Shovelling out the manure to put on the grass seed was considered the highlight of the day.

The Vauxhall City Farm clean up is just one of the ways Grainger supports valuable community projects local to its offices and businesses.
